Question 1

What is RefineRack and how does it automate restaurant operations?

Accepted Answer

RefineRack is an all-in-one restaurant automation platform that synchronizes dine-in QR code ordering, real-time Kitchen Display Systems (KDS), waiter floor companion tools, and an AI Smart Waiter ('Raju'). By uploading an existing paper menu PDF, restaurants can instantly set up digital ordering, kitchen ticketing, and intelligent dish recommendations without costly hardware.

Question 2

Do restaurant customers have to download an app to order via QR code?

Accepted Answer

No. Customers simply scan the table QR code using their smartphone camera. The digital menu opens immediately in their mobile browser with silent anonymous authentication. There is zero app download or registration required.

Question 3

How does RefineRack prevent unauthorized or fake table orders?

Accepted Answer

RefineRack uses a staff-verified 4-digit table join code. When guests are seated, a waiter generates a single 4-digit code for that table. All guests at the table enter that code to join the collaborative session and place orders. This preserves full-service hospitality while preventing online pranksters or remote users from sending fake orders to the kitchen.

Question 4

What is the Raju AI Smart Waiter and what makes it unique?

Accepted Answer

Raju is an AI dining companion trained directly on the restaurant's dishes, ingredients, and house pairing notes. Raju guides guests across 4 dynamic dining stages (Seated, Starters, Mains, and Desserts) and enforces Indian dining cultural guardrails: strict pure-veg table isolation (never cross-suggests meat to veg parties), egg vs. vegetarian segregation, and cashew nut (kaju) and dairy allergen warnings.

Question 5

How does the Kitchen Display System (KDS) work?

Accepted Answer

When orders are placed, tickets immediately appear on station-filtered kitchen screens (e.g. Tandoor, Chinese, Curry). Kitchen staff tap to update statuses from Placed to Preparing and Ready. Concurrency-safe subcollections ensure stations can update statuses simultaneously without race conditions, and waiters receive real-time alerts when food is ready at the pass.

Question 6

How much does RefineRack cost for restaurants in India?

Accepted Answer

RefineRack offers transparent monthly plans priced well below a single waiter's salary: Starter is ₹1,499/month (up to 15 tables), Growth is ₹2,999/month (16–35 tables, includes AI Waiter Raju and Host waitlist), and Pro is ₹4,999/month (36–60 tables, advanced reports, priority support). Custom enterprise plans are available for multi-outlet restaurant chains.
